Have / eat

- Sometimes I have soup for breakfast.

- Sometimes I eat soup for breakfast.

Both "have soup" and "eat soup" are correct, aren't they? Any difference? Does the first one sound more elegant?

Hi, Both are fine, but I rarely hear anyone say 'eat soup'. 'Have' is the normal and everyday word. Clive
