Have been vs were

Dear teachers...

I suspect 'have been' would have sounded much better here instead of 'were'.

The invitations were just sent to the press agency, and the press conference about the wedding has been scheduled for Friday at five, here.

". . . . have just been sent . . . ", not "have been just sent," unless you mean "onlyto the press agency." Emotion: smile
