Have already made up VS already made up

M: I heard you and Jim had a falling-out.
W: Well, we did have an argument.
M: So, everything's OK now?
W: Yeah. We've already made up.

If I say 'We already made up', how does it sound?
Does it sound making up happened rather a long time ago?

'We've already made up' is correct. 'We already made up is often said but I don't think it is grammatically correct, at least not from a 'British' English point of view.
