have a trickle down

I heard this, I'm guessing it means does the enthusiasm have an effect on the rest of the people.
Is this correct English?
Does his entusiasm have a trickle down to the rest of you?

Thanks

You must use either the verb 'trickle down' or the noun phrase 'a trickle down effect'. Both seem odd when they are not used of Economics.
