Have a good fit?

Hello everybody.

Would you please tell me what ' have a good fit' mean?

I looked it up but I failed to find such an expression.

"Aunt March had a good fit and sent the supper." Cried Jo with a sudden inspiration.

I really appreciate you for your help ??.

Jamal 1315have a good fit

be taken by a sudden and uncontrollable desire to do something

In this case Jo suggests that maybe Aunt March just had a temporary lapse of sanity (i.e., went crazy) and arranged for and sent the supper. (Jo is wrong, but that's her guess.)

(This expression is not used in modern English.)

Bear in mind how old this is. Aunt March suffered (had) an attack (fit) of goodness (good) and gave them food (sent the supper). It is ironic.
