When do you use the word "have"? I see the use of the word "have" below from a lot of my coworkers. I typically use the format w/o the word "have". Which is the proper way to write the below sentence? thanks.

Here are some common examples:

AlpheccaStars is absolutely correct. For me, there is no difference in meaning between "I have generated the report" and "I generated the report". The addition of "have" does make it seem that you recently have generated the report but that's nuance only.
