Have

Sir,

I have a pen.

I need to write negative of above sentence.

I have not a pen.

I do not have a pen.

Which one is correct?

I need some explanation on this.Please.

Hello H2K 'I do not have a pen' is correct in formal English. 'I don't have a pen' is correct but less formal. 'I have not a pen'/'I haven't a pen' is correct, but not very widely used in current English.
