Is it grammatically correct to say:--I don't care that damn.                       .......................... why the word 'that' is used here.pls make it clear to me.if possible then pls giv some examples.thx in advance.

No, it doesn't make any sense.

There is an idiom "give a ****" but you can't change it to "care that ****".

Hi,

If I would give $1 million for your opinion, it means I think your opinion has great value.

If I would give $0.01 for your opinion, it means I think your opinion has almost no vale at all.

A '****' is considered to be a naughty, useless word.

If I don't give a **** for your opinion, it means I think your opinion is not even worth a useless thing.

As you can see , the expression is usually in the negative form, eg I don't (even) give a **** for/about something.

Idiomatically, you can also say 'I don't care a **** about . . .'

And of course it is part of the last line spoken in Gone With the Wind by Clark Gable and which caused great controversy in 1939, as the censors wanted to change '****' to 'darn'.

Thankfully they failed and so the line remains:

"Frankly my dear, I don't give a ****."

Which was his response to Vivian Leigh's question as to what she could do.

The last line of course, is another idiomatic expression spoken by Ms Leigh, and is:

"After all, tomorrow is another day."
