there is a section in newspaper called hatch,amtch and dispatch. Is that one part or not?

sorry khoff. that was a stupid typing mistake by me. yes MATCH. i mean all these words refer to one part in the newspaper or that's several parts?

So what do you call this column in the U.S? What's the proper term in use today?

I'd say it's a not-unusual term in Britain, at least among people with a little education.

Well, let's see. In my local paper they are not all together. Death notices are in a section called "Obituaries" that appears in the local news section. Wedding notices and photos appear on Sundays, in the "Living" section, which used to be called "the Society Pages" or, even longer ago, "The Women's Section." I would guess that most U.S. papers don't bother with birth notices. I'm not sure w

I read this word( hatch,match and dispatch) in the book For And Against by L.G.Alexander (Longman Publication). And since it's an old one, Mr. Khoff might be right and it's an out-moded word.
