Hasn't and didn't

Hi all,

Can anybody let me know the context in which I should use hasn't and didn't with few examples?

Thanks in advance,
Shivakumar

You're not getting a response, Shivakumar, because the topic as expressed is a little undefined. ' ('have' as main verb) Perhaps others could add to this.

I'll start you off with the major cases:

(1a) 'I haven't seen him.' (present perfect: uncompleted activity-- he may yet be seen)
(1b) 'I didn't see him.' (simple past: event completed)

(2a) 'Have you seen him?' 'No, I haven't.' ('have' as auxiliary)
