Has won or won?

Hello!If i'm talking about a person who's still alive, should I say that "She has won many awards."or that"She won many awards." ?And also with "travelling":Is it "He has travelled to many countries."or"He travelled to many countries." ?Thanks!

Both the past and present perfect are OK.
The present perfect is probably a better choice.

"She won many awards." To me, this implies that she is no going to more, eg she may be dead or retired.
