Has won or won?

Hello!
If i'm talking about a person who's still alive, should I say that

"She has won many awards."
or that
"She won many awards." ?

And also with "travelling":

Is it "He has travelled to many countries."
or
"He travelled to many countries." ?

Thanks!

Both the past and present perfect are OK. The present perfect is probably a better choice.

"She won many awards." To me, this implies that she is no going to more, eg she may be dead or retired.
