Has this worked before vs. Was this worked before

Dear teachers and friends,

What is the proper question If I want to ask someone whether something that he/she has done is working or not.

“was this worked before”

or

“has this worked before”
What is the different between these 2 sentences.

Which one is better/correct or is there any better idea than this?

Thanks in advance.
