Has or Have?

I know that 'has" is used when the subject is singular and "have" when the subject is plural but I'm confused why it is not right to say...

Does it has a box? (box is of course singular)

I have forgotten the reason behind it but I know that the sentence is not right although box is singular.

Please help.
