Has or Have

Hi everyone,
I am a proofreader and need help with a question from an Italian student regarding the following sentence:
"In this statement I will describe how my unorthodox academic path and previous
work experience in urban development has provided me with the skills and
personal qualities which make me a suitable applicant for the position of Lecturer
in Social and International Development."
The student wants to know whether has or have is correct. I think that has sounds right, but can't provide a proper explanation as to why. If you could offer any help with this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
