Has or had?

Hi. What is the right way to say it when talking about something that doesn't exist anymore, but did exist when it was spoken about by someone in the past? For example in this sentence I'm talking about a company called "ForExample" which doesn't exist anymore, which one is correct?

"10 years ago, George said that ForExample has talented employees"

or

"10 years ago, George said that ForExample had talented employees"
