Has helped expanded or helped expand

Hi guys,

I am not sure which one is the correct one therefore can native English speakers please show me the light?

Here are the sentences:

"This has really helped me expanded my knowledge"

or

"this has really helped me expand my knowledge"

Would love to know the reason behind choosing one over another too if possible. Thanks.
