Has done smart things...

Which are correct:

1-Tom is not smart because he solved your puzzle. He is smart because he solved mine.
2-Tom is not smart only because he solved my puzzle. He also solve Harry's,

3-Pete is not smart because he failed to solve my puzzle.
4-Pete is not smart, because he failed to solve my puzzle.

I think 3 does not work.
