'Has been'or 'Had been' ??

If I am saying the following sentence about a match that happened yesterday or just a few days ago, should I use had been or has been?

What an epic match it had been/has been!

If it "has been epic" then you are still there at the match.
That contradicts the fact that it happened yesterday or ever further in the past.

If it "had been epic" then it happened before something else.
There's no other event or action mentioned in your sentence.

So it can't be either of those. It's "was",
