Where in the world would someone be "seated in 8th grade"? Where in the world would it happen? In your country?


The point is, you should use whatever the official terminology is in the part of the world where it happens.


For example, if you are talking about someone in the Pakistani education system, use the term that is used in that. If numbered grades are used in Pakistan, it could be correct. If you are talking about someone in the British education system, you would need to use numbered years instead, like year 8.
