Has been received [date]

Hi, after I completed an online application,

"Your application has been received [some recent time and today's date]."

Is it ok to specify the past time and date with present perfect passive? I think "was received" would be more appropriate.

" Is it ok to specify the date with present perfect passive? I think "was received" will be more appropriate. Present Perfect is better, because the past event (ie the receipt of the application) has importance to you at the present time.
