Grammar

has been or had been

Please somebody, explain to me what and why is better to use in this sentence: And as it has been/had been previously mentioned, she stayed with her daughter. Or is it better to use just past simple?

And another question, do native speakers always use correct tenses and never get confused?

Thank you in advance Emotion: smile))

Anonymous has been/had been Assuming you are referring to a previous mention within the same text, you need this: As has been mentioned (previously), she stayed with her daughter. Anonymous do native speakers always use correct tenses and never get confused? Native speakers are seldom confused about their choice of tenses, but they do make mistakes.
