Grammar

has been employed + occupied

Hello everyone.

I received the following sentence in my reference and am unsure if it is grammatically correct:

"After she has been employed, she initially occupied the function intern."

For me it just sounds weird but am unsure what needs to be corrected. Any suggestions what would be correct?

Thanks for your help!
