Has asked/asked

I'm traveling aboard on business and everyday on Skype web chat my son asks for pictures of the different countries I've been touring. So, I've decided to take pictures of all the sites I've been visiting to show him during our chat sessions.

The next day while we're chatting again he asks me to show him photographs of my recent travels and I say to him:

The pictures are for you since you have asked for them. Or should I say:

The pictures are for you since you asked for them.

Which would a native English speaker use?

Top answer

The pictures are for you since you have asked for them. Or should I say: The pictures are for you since you asked for them. In a conversation, the shorter form would be most common, I would think.

  • The pictures are for you since you have asked for them.
  • Or should I say: The pictures are for you since you asked for them.
  • In a conversation, the shorter form would be most common, I would think.
  • Both are possible.
