(2) That has been already mentioned.

Question: Which is correct? If both are correct, which is more common?

I'd use (1). I would not use (2). That said, both are grammatically correct.

I'd use (1). I would not use (2).

That said, both are grammatically correct.

The basic rule is to place that adverb after the first verb in a multi-word verb phrase, i.e., after the first auxiliary verb. I don't see any reason to do otherwise for this particular sentence.

Besides, Google Ngram can't find any examples of (2) in its database.
