Hardly any time at all

An American study, carried out in 2010, discovered that it took hardly any time at all for men and women to choose who they would like to meet again in the future.

Could you say the bold fragment in other way? I don't quite get it.

Thanks in advance!

"hardly any time" means just a very small amount of time. "at all" adds a kind of emphasis.
