Hi,

Is this sentence correct? How can I correct? Please help me. Thanks.

"When Jack London came back to California he had hardly nothing."

what about he barely/ hardly had anything?

He [hardly / barely / scarcely] had anything is OK, but He had [hardly / barely / scarcely] anything is better. It puts the modifier closer to what it modifies.
