"I wondered which was harder, in the end. The act of telling, or who you told it to. Or maybe if, when you finally got it out, the story was really all that mattered."

Can anyone please explain me the above.. if possible with examples.. if it has something to do with hidden love.

I wonder which is harder - the act of telling(confessing) the love for someone or what follows after the confession (when you finally mustered the courage and told the person you love him/her). ) This has everything to do with hidden love - your love for someone is often not known to the other person until you confess your feelings.
