Haptic feedback

Are you familiar with the phrase "haptic feedback" or just "haptic" in general?

I know what it means but I'm wondering if I can use it in everyday conversation because I think it's relatively uncommon. What do you think?

Just from reading Wikipedia, my impression is that it has no general application in "everyday life," and exists not as a way of looking at or analyzing phenomena, but as an "artificial" simulation of stimuli which for some reason have become unavailable to the person, or blocked from his perception.

Wonder no more! Assuming you want to be understood, you can't use it in everyday conversation -- unless you want to do a lot of explaining. But maybe you can make yourself

AvangiI wonder if it has application in fields where scientists are trying to replicate sensations for people who have lost certain sensory abilities (eg, blindness) - in some cases by electrically stimulating the brain. That would certainly be a topic for popular conversation - especially with all the popular interest in virtual reality.
