I won the first prize in a competion yesterday.
Can I just say" I feel very glad tonight"to my mother?
I mean my mother doesn't know what has happened and I don't tell my mother what has happened and doesn't intend to tell my mother what has happened and my mother doesn't intend to ask me what has happened.

I just say a sentence when I get home.
Many thanks in advance

HI,

If you said that to me, I'd ask you 'Why do you feel that way?'

As I said above, glad refers to an emotion that has a specific cause.
