' happiness ISN'T ON THE ROAD TO ANYTHING'

Hello, merry Xmas and Happy new year for all you!
...by the way, could someone explain me the exactly meaning of this sentence?:

' ... told me once that happiness isn't on the road to anything. That happiness is the road.'

Thanks in advance, jo.
