Happiness

The man of my dreams finally comes back to me.

I say:

I've been waiting for you for 10 years. OR

I've waited for you for 10 years. Or

I waited for you for 10 years.

Which one should I use if he's finally come back to me and is right in front of me.

Thanks!

have + Ving means from the past and is still occurring now. You are no longer waiting, so you can't use present perfect continuous.

present perfect relates to now but has ended already, so its the best choice.

He is right in front of you, and your waiting "just stopped" so it is related to now-->you can't use past tense either.
