happen to know...

Hi,

I'm just wondering about the meaning of the sentence "do you happen to ..."?

e.g. do you happen to know where he went?

Does it mean "do you usually know where he usually goes?"?

thanks in advance.

And definitely not "usually"! "chance" or "luck" are exactly what are communicated by that expression.

I happen to have just the answer you're looking for.
It just so happens that I have the answer you're looking for.
As luck would have it, I have just the answer you're looking for.

These three are, generally speaking, equivalents.
