"hanging out" like "taking time"?

Hi,

Would you explain the meaning of this "hanging out" that I underlined? My guess is like, taking time. Am I correct?

(btw, she's a blind so someone helped her eat pizza)
She gets it all over her face, we help her wipe it and she does a great job hanging out.

Thanks,
M

Thanks for the reply and the revision. I should've payed more attention to my writing. It seems like "hanging out" is "hanging out." Maybe I was thinking too much..

Anyway, many thanks.
