Hang clothes to dry

Is this sentence correct and do you need to leave « to dry »?

I would have hated to have to hang my clothes (to dry) right now.

Thanks

anonymous Is this sentence correct and do you need to leave « to dry »? You need something in addition to "hang". You can "hang your clothes out to dry", or you can "hang your clothes out" if it is understood why, but you can't "hang your clothes".
