hang about/hang out

(1) Go and buy this medicine and return as quick as possible. Please do not hang about. Go directly to pharmacy.

(2) I don't like hanging about with friends.

(3) I don't like hanging out with friends.

Please correct my sentences. Also please tell me what's the differenc in meaning between 2nd and 3rd sentence in regard to "hang about" and "hang out".
