Handy money maker!
I hope you all know your mathematics. As a reminder if you multiply 0.1 by itself you will get 0.01 Okay? Check it on your calculator to see that I'm right.
Also, 10 cents equals 0.1$
Now for the handy money maker:
1$ = 100cents
= 10 x 10 cents
= 0.1$ x 0.1$
= 0.01$
= 1 cent
Hey presto! 1$ = 1cent

Oops, too bad that 10 x 10 cents can't be rewritten to 0.1$ x 0.1$ because there is no cent in the first 10. So, 10 x 10 cents will be 10 x 0.1$.
