Handwriting Copy - Writing Samples

Hello.

I am translating a scientific article on dyslexia where I came across the terms "Handwriting Copy" and "Writing Samples". Having not encountered the terms before, I am not sure what they practically mean nor can I find the equal terms in my language. Below, I am quoting the lines the terms are mentioned in case someone who happens to know the meaning helps me out with this.
