hand/pass something to someone

Hello,
What in your opinion is the difference between: "He passed/handed the newspaper to Jack"? What are the nuances? They seem pretty similar if not the same.

Top answer

I would use either without any nuances. There isn't any other means than by hand when passing a newspaper.
