Handheld shower vs overhead shower

Is it called an overhead shower vs a handheld shower?

The water is hotter out of handheld shower than the overhead shower so I have to turn on the cold water faucet more when using the handheld shower.

When there is a cold water knob and a hot water knob, how do you say this?

The water is too hot, open the cold water knob more.

The water is too hot, close the hot water knob more
