Hand over hand to

Suppose I want to sell a stuff and someone asked me to give him before money which one would be the right from below?

You have/need to pay first before I hand the stuff to you.

You have/need to pay first before I hand the stuff over to you.

Please explain I suppose both are usable but not sure about proper grammatical rule.
