'Hand out' and 'Hand around'

What are the difference between hand out and hand around?

I hv looked them up and their meaning are same.

I don't know their difference...When should i use 'hand out' or 'hand around'?

Anonymous What are the difference between hand out and hand around? "Hand around" is a new one on me. I'd assume it refers to a single copy of a memo which is supposed to be passed around the office, although now that everyone has his own computer, that seems obsolete.

"Hand around" is a new one on me.
I'd assume it refers to a single copy of a memo which is supposed to be passed around the office, although now that everyone has his own computer, that seems obsolete.
(Sometimes a memo needs to be initialed by each person.)
