Hamlet- any thoughts

0Sanity Through the Unimaginable02br

00 Hamlet is the kind of character that really makes someone wonder. His actions have proved to be incredibly abnormal. There are times when he seems perfectly sane and witty, and other times is completely insane. By looking at all of his actions, it is difficult to judge whether he is crazed or not.02br
02br
00 Of all Hamlet’s actions, most of them prove him to be perfectly sane and coherent of all that is going on around him. For someone to have planned all of the numerous plots that he did, they would have to be fair-minded. He was aware of all the mischief that was taking place in Denmark; making it a challenge to deny him credit for those plans.02br

00 Hamlet sees right through Rosencrantz and Guildenstern when they come to see what is bothering him. The king had sent them to poke and prod at Hamlet and come back with any information they had discovered. Hamlet; however, was not going to succumb to their plan. He recognized that something was wrong with their sudden appearances not only once, but two times. Hamlet saw that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were not the friends he thought they were. They would do anything to satisfy the king.02br

00Why, look you now, how unworthy a thing you make of me. 02br

00Hamlet shows his sanity in this quote because he doesn’t let the two of them walk over him. He had just told Guildenstern to play the recorder. Guildenstern didn’t know how and Hamlet told Guildenstern that he should know how to play because he is always playing him. Hamlet has shown that he is tired of them and all of the assistance they give the King. An insane person would not be able to recognize this, and couldn’t carry on such a crafty and intelligent conversation.02br

00 Many times, Hamlet tells those around him that he may be acting a little awkward. Would a man with such madness come out and admit that he is crazy? Of course not. If someone were insane, they would not want others to know; they would be in a state of denial, and try to hide it as much as possible. 02br

00 Throughout the play, Hamlet converses to a numerous about of people. In these conversations, he is fully aware of what they are talking about and is very cunning with what he says. He tricks a few of the characters with his little puzzles; only a couple of the people realize the amount of circles they are running in through the conversations. It makes for a brief period of humor in what is a very intense and structured play.02br
00 Hamlet wants others to view him as a crazy madman. Being “mad” may create opportunities for him and his plot for revenge. He is a very intellectual being and doesn’t want to mess up what could be considerably rewarding. He has a tendency to over analyze every detail of his plan, which allows for mixed messages to be sent out. Those messages are seen as crazy, and many become frightened of him. However, there is no need to be frightened. Hamlet is a man that has mastered the art of perfectionism, and his intelligence level can be seen on another dimension. 0-
