After carefully looking through my notes i've decided that I want to base my thesis on hamlet's internal struggles for revenge. tell me what you think about this:

Hamlet is delayed by internal character traits because he is immature, insane, indecisive and ....

I'm having trouble finding a 4th. any quotes can help too

Do you really consider insanity a character trait? I don't. It's more serious than a mere trait.

And do you really think that Hamlet is insane? Most critics consider that he is just pretending to be mad.

so what would be a trait that can explain hamlet's behavior? i would consider hamlet insane based on the fact that he was the only one who was able to communicate with the ghost and that he was the only one who can see him when he was in the room with his mother. Wouldn't pretending to be mad be considered to have insane tendencies ? As for the other struggles, i can talk about hamlet being indeci

Through out the play, Hamlet has many opportunities to avenge his father's death by murdering Claudius; however we have the impression something is holding Hamlet back.
