I heard him interviewed on the radio this morning and had a startling thought he sounds Irish. There's a particular quality of vowels, a sort of roundness or fullness, that I tend to associate with Irish speech; it's almost as though you're making more room in your mouth for the vowel to roll around in. "Lawful" becomes "lawrful," and so on. I don't know what the technical name for this would be. Has anybody else noticed this?
