Halfway through the meeting my mind started to wander.

What does the "halfway through" mean in this sentence?

I know halfway means in the middle of. But I could not understand it (halfway through the meeting) as a whole.

Please explain it.

In this context, sort of, but really it means the halfway point.

If the meeting is between 2pm and 4pm - halfway through is at 3pm. But 'halfway through' can be used in other contexts where 'during' isn't the meaning.
