The bus leaves every half hour ?

"half an hour" is not wrong in itself. There are many cases where it is correct, e.g. "I'll be about half an hour".

"The bus leaves every half an hour" looks slightly off to me, though it's likely that people do sometimes say it, and I probably would not notice an error if I heard it in conversation.
