"half"?

Hello,

I wonder if there is any (meaning) difference between:

-"half an hour"

-and "a half hour"

Please help!

THANK YOU!

(PS: to learn the use of "half" is always difficult to me)

Both mean 30 minutes, so there is no difference in meaning. Half-hour is usually hyphenated. CB
