I have recently read something on the web about pollution and something appeared like 'cut nitrogen oxide emissions in half' and 'cut nitrogen oxide by half'.
I'm wondering if there is any difference between 'cut sth by half' and 'cut sth in half'.
Thanks a lot.

To me they both mean that there will be 50% less afterwards.
