Sorry. I made a silly mistake in the first sentence. It should be him.

What's the difference between he's gone bankrupt and he's bankrupt? They are equally correct to me.

Both seem fine to me. 'gone' bankrupt suggests a recent event to me.

I find 'hailed' odd here. It needs to be used in the sense of being publicly announced/accepted as this by a substantial group of people. It can't just be one person's opinion.
