A website on English grammar claims that A is wrong and should be changed to B.
Also, C is wrong and should be changed to D.

Is this claim correct to native’s sense?
I feel the logic of A and B is not the same with the logic of C and D.
It seems like the two logics are opposite.

C: They hadn't agreed to take Kevin until they saw how well we get on.
? D: They didn't agree to take Kevin until they had seen how well we get on.
All four are correct. The choice is one of time, not logic. The versions using the past perfect would require rather unusual circumstances.
